First off is the 49″ Vlam Dancer. This board is awesome having personally ridden it my self for about a week. It is constructed in a similar way to the Rocker Convex Vlam Mini. It is constructed of purpleheart and basswood backed by a sheet of 1/8″ baltic birch ply wood. It has a great flex and a wonderful return to center. It has 1/4″ of concave and 1/8″ of camber that allows for a nice comfortable ride. This board has plenty of footspace and makes dancing or boardwalking a breeze. The three inch nose and tails makes manuals a piece of cake and the 37″ wheel base makes carving this monster feel as if you were on a wave. This board also comes with deeeep wheel wells that allow you to run larger wheels, and for the Prototype I decided to have a go at a raised purpleheart veneer logo.

The Second board is still not completed but is getting great review so far in terms of shape and how functional the shape looks. This board is the Vlam Torsion Box Speedboard… which still needs a name other than that. The prototype is constructed of 2x 1/8″ Baltic Birch plywood pressed with the classic Night Skateboards Taco Cave, that is then coated with fiberglass on the bottom. Then a torsion box, which in the prototype is constructed of Basswood and Tigerwood, but for production runs the Tigerwood will be replaced with Purpleheart as it is lighter and the qualities of the wood are much better, is added to the board. The box and board are then coated with another layer of fiberglass, and the board is cut out. This prototype turned out much thicker and much heavier than what the production run will be. I am hoping in the long run to be able to shave off half the thickness and 1/3 of the weight. This board is completely stiff and has no flex in any direction what so ever. This board will be drilled to have wheelbases of 31″ 32″ and 33.” The board rocks and should be a great one to be added to the Night Skateboards line.
